Shopping online for cheap jewellery

Gone are the days when you have to spend most of your weekend driving from town to town trying to find a piece of jewellery that you really want. Nowadays all you have to do is find a computer with an internet connection and you can view hundreds of different pieces in a couple of hours. You can then bookmark your favourites, pick what you like the most and pay for it all from the comfort of your favourite chair.

There are literally hundreds of online retailers that sell jewellery. From the major department stores such as House of Fraser and Debenhams, to specialist jewellers like H Samuel, F Hinds and Ernest Jones, and all of the little unheard of shops on your local high street in between. You can even buy jewellery online from sole traders who make their own unique and custom jewellery.

However you choose to shop for jewellery online always make sure that you are getting what you are paying for. The general rule is that if it sounds too good to be true then it usually is. Resist the temptation to buy jewellery that seems too cheap as it is most likely to be stolen or counterfeit. That said. there are some good bargains to be had on auction websites such as eBay if you don’t mind buying second hand.

Below is a video that will help you to tell if jewellery is real or fake. Always use a credit card when making purchases online as that means if you do fall victim to fraud you can always contact your bank who will process a chargeback to recover your money.
